AMBL's commitment goes beyond employment

The initiative of Achieving My Best Life (AMBL) shines as a pillar of progress in our shared vision for inclusive growth. As the Executive Director of Valley Sheltered Workshop (VSW), I am deeply inspired by AMBL’s dedication to opening doors to accessible work options for all, particularly for those with Intellectual, Cognitive, and/or Developmental Disabilities.

AMBL's commitment goes beyond employment; it's about cultivating a community where every individual can find their calling and place in the world. Their work celebrates the individual journey toward self-discovery and the realization of each person's potential within our society.

This project is a cornerstone for building a future where accessible work options are not just an ideal but a reality for everyone, nurturing hope and fostering a sense of identity that is vital for a thriving community.

Championing neurodiversity, AMBL isn’t just helping individuals in need

As the parent of a daughter with physical and mental disabilities, I have seen how greatly non-profit organizations like AMBL (Achieving My Best Life) can impact the lives of neurodiverse or other-abled individuals.

Often, these individuals face barriers that hinder their full participation in society. This is where AMBL steps in to ensure access to education, training, memberships, transportation, and other essential resources. AMBL recognizes that financial constraints should not stand in the way of an individual realizing their potential or contributing their unique talents to the world. By helping to alleviate these financial barriers, AMBL creates pathways to success that otherwise might have remained out of reach.

Building our daughter's independence and self-esteem

As parents of a neurodiverse adult child, we are struck by the positive experiences our daughter is having in her community and the welcoming spirit in which these experiences are created, offered, and managed. Until this point, much of our parenting has focused on the specifics of meeting her medical and therapeutic needs, whereas this program asks a powerful question that we have had less opportunity and bandwidth to consider--How can she achieve her best life? By supporting AMBL, we hope that other individuals with intellectual, cognitive and/or developmental disabilities will also have access to the types of community resources, such as supported living, employment, and recreation that are building our daughter's independence and self-esteem.

Achieving My Best Life (AMBL) is providing critical resources

All too often, young adults with special needs and their families have to fight for the right to engage in sports, meaningful employment, social events and postsecondary education. We are delighted to advocate for those with special needs to attend college, to live more independently and to become valued members of their community. RISE, our 2-year college life experience program for students with intellectual disabilities, has forever changed the Judson University campus for the better. Achieving My Best Life (AMBL) is providing critical resources to allow adults with disabilities to fully participate in educational, employment and social opportunities. It’s our privilege to partner with AMBL to improve the lives of so many capable, yet underestimated, individuals.

AMBL funding makes things possible

Job training, Special Olympics, and social activities are key for adults living more independently for the first time. AMBL funding will make these possible and is a worthy pursuit and deserving of donor dollars!

Connecting with the community

Connecting with the community is an essential component to an enriched life. It provides an avenue to make friends, opportunities for physical activity, and the ability to make a difference in the community in which one lives. AMBL will ensure individuals with disabilities have the opportunity to access community resources and become an important part of an inclusive community.
